Staff

Our staff has been in your shoes. Many are in recovery and have experienced a sober living community. Others have been affected by those with addiction.

Butch Lewis – Executive Director

Butch Lewis comes to David’s House with substantial experience in both the for-profit business environment and the nonprofit sector. After high school Mr. Lewis joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for five years. He has also served supporting the United States Army as they ramped up to deploy after 9/11. Mr. Lewis attended Purdue University, majoring in Industrial Management and Organizational Leadership & Supervision, and Oxford University in England where he studied international conflict management. He was the founder of University Life, a West Lafayette, Indiana, based company designed to consolidate marketing on college campuses. In addition to these business ventures, Mr. Lewis has also worked as the Marketing Director for Trinitas Ventures, an Indiana-based land development company specializing in student housing. After leaving University Life he worked with several universities, government and non-profit organizations including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, Harvard University School of Law, Dallas School District, Homeland Security and K-Love Radio. Butch now lives in the foothills of Denver with his wife Beth, children Devon, Aydon and their dog Dozer. His personal interests include triathlons, snowboarding, movies and spending time with family.

Matt Lauzon – Clinical Director

Mr. Louzon has been working in a variety of roles with at-risk youth, adults, and their families for 23 years in the Denver Metro area. In 1993, he began work with Excelsior Youth Center and remains there today as the Manager of New Programming.  Throughout his work in that agency, he has developed their Community-Based Services program, coordinated many alternative treatment approaches and groups, trained staff in trauma-informed care and other clinical paradigms,  and created a true continuum of care to help families remain in their communities. He has worked with Saddle Rock Counseling for 15 years as an addiction therapist and group facilitator for voluntary and court-ordered clientele. Additionally, Matt has consulted with several private agencies to create and coordinate comprehensive programming for adolescent and adult programs. Matt began collaboration with Parker Family Care in the fall of 2016 to provide an integrated care approach for their clientele. His latest work has been as the Program Developer for David’s Sober Living Community. Educational experience includes an MA in Community Counseling from University of Northern Colorado and a BS from Michigan State University. Credentials include LPC #4364, CMiT, and pending certificate for Masters Addiction Counselor. Application for licensure in Additions Counseling is being submitted this spring. Matt has been noted as being a creative and caring counselor who actively works with clients to help achieve sustainable results that are created in an integrative approach.  He is a consummate professional who prioritizes the relationship with others in his approach.
